PRAYER REQUEST

March 2025
As we continue with the legal processes of purchasing this property we have been reminded in our prayer meetings ‘ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you’ (John 15:7). This promise is repeated a number of times in the upper room and is a reminder to us that our Lord is limitless in his giving and we can be bold in our asking.
We are thankful that we continue to see the Lord’s hand going before us; our building surveyor has been very positive about the condition of the property and our solicitors have been efficient in their work for us. We continue to covet your prayers in this matter.
If anyone would like to enquire further, please email Jeremy or Andy (simply click the envelope below).
February 2025 – Update 19/02/25
This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. Psalm 118:23
Please praise the Lord with us as we testify to his great power in moving hearts such that we were able to place a revised bid last week which has now been accepted by the Salvation Army. We are in awe and truly humbled by his goodness to us.
We now embark on the legal process of purchasing the property and continue to ask for prayer that this will go smoothly. In the midst of these very practical matters we also pray that we do not lose sight of the main things – the Gospel ministry and witness of our church here in the community in which we have been placed. Thank you for your prayers.
February 2025 – Update 12/02/25
Please pray as the owner of the property (the Salvation Army) considers the bids. We have been made aware that ours is not the highest bid, but that it is the only bid that does not require a change of use. The Salvation Army would prefer the property to continue as a place of worship and have asked us if we can revise our bid. …so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God… Psalm 123.
We return thanks to the Lord for receiving confirmation of our charity status this week. This application has been completed and approved in an extremely short time!
February 2025
O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Psalm 105:1
The Lord has graciously provided the means for us to place a bid on the vacant place of worship! He has also supplied many helps along the way as we make an application to become registered as a charity to be able to buy the building. We are so thankful for these amazing developments.
The deadline for bids on the property is Friday 7th February, and we ask that you will continue in prayer as we commit this matter to the Lord. We are content to rest in whatever his will may be for us.
January 2025
In God’s providence, a vacant place of worship, only about a hundred metres from where we currently meet for services, has been put up for sale. We are prayerfully considering whether this will provide us with a permanent space for our worship and ongoing ministry in the community of Gawthorpe. Acting upon 2 Thessalonians 3:1, in seeking the Lord’s will for our small church, we would simply ask our Christian brothers and sisters, whether local or from afar, to join us in praying that the Lord would open up the way forward, making His will clear if it is right for us to put an offer in, and providing for us if so.
